The technology behind a vision revolution

Varilux X series is the result of the combination of three breakthrough technologies; Xtend, Nanoptix and Synchroneyes.


Most of the important things that happen every day occur within arm's reach. For this reason, your near vision, between 40-70cm away, is crucial. Xtend technology optimises the lens, allowing you to capture multiple targets with one gaze direction. This dramatically reduces the need of head movements to find the sweet spot of the lens.

Varilux Xtend technology


The lens is re-engineered so there is virtually no image distortion. This results in vision stability by dramatically reducing the sensation of loss of balance when moving. Nanoptix can make it easier to adapt to wearing varifocal lenses.

Your Varilux X series lenses can be modified by up to seven unique measurements, including near vision behaviour, the physiological shape of your eye and even the frame you wish to wear. This is made possible by a unique measurement process developed by Essilor and found in partner opticians.
